How To Play

Start with any Level. Each Level has 5 Circles — play one Circle per evening (or more, if it feels right). This game is for romantic partners — not friends (tonight).

LEVELS

The Gentle Code doesn’t throw everything at you at once. Instead, you move through five levels, each with its own rhythm, spark, and challenge. Think of it as relationship parkour, but with less bruising.

  • Level 1 — We Just Met, But I’d Die for You
    Early spark. All charm, no brakes.
  • Level 2 — Slightly Obsessed, Mildly Terrified
    The feelings are mutual. Unfortunately, so is the anxiety.
  • Level 3 — So, Are We Doing This?
    Eye contact now comes with side effects.
  • Level 4 — Comfortable, But Still Flammable
    Cozy love, emotional kindling. One wrong joke and someone’s crying.
  • Level 5 — Love, Loopholes & Laundry
    Devotion with detours. Passion — and the GPS to find your way back.

THE SPARK TOKEN

Can’t be earned by answering a card. It’s given in an unexpected moment — something spontaneous, real, or quietly beautiful.

  • • Wildcard — completes any set of four

THE CURIOUS TOKEN

A gentle reminder to ask your own follow-up question later. Use it at the end of a Circle or Level.

Only one per Circle. You may trade in a single token (Tenderness, Truth, Courage, or Touch) to take a CURIOUS token.

CARD SYMBOLS

Each card has a tone.

These symbols appear on your cards. They hint at the tone — playful, deep, curious, or just plain weird.

END OF LEVEL

At the end of each Level, pause and reflect — then claim a playful title together. It’s your checkpoint and your badge.

REFLECTION CARD

A short pause to notice what shifted. Each Level ends with a playful reflection prompt.

Finish a line like “Right now I feel…” or “Something I noticed about you tonight…”. The goal isn’t perfect answers, just honest ones.

TITLE CARD

Choose a shared name for your Level — from “The Impulse Artists” to “The Morning Enthusiasts.”

It’s a playful badge of honor, and scanning the QR unlocks your title as merch or a printable decal.

TRADING TOKENS

Why trade? To balance your collections and help each other reach what matters — Surprise Cards, variety, or just playful bargaining. Tokens can be gifts, requests, or strategy, but the goal is shared fun.

  • After you finish a Level, lay out your tokens. Trade them as gifts, requests, or strategy — choose what feels generous and fun.
  • 2-for-1 exchange with your partner: offer any two of Tenderness, Truth, Courage, or Touch for one token you need. Example: one Tenderness + one Truth = one Courage.
  • SPARK is a wildcard and not tradable — it can complete any set of four to unlock a Surprise Card.
  • CURIOUS is returned after use and not tradable.
  • Agree together — trades are mutual, playful, and optional.
