Privacy Policy — The Gentle Code
Last updated: October 6, 2025
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Gentle Code ("we," "our," "us") collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to information collected when you visit or interact with www.induo.club and its subdomains (including play.induo.club) and related online services (collectively, the "Service"). It does not cover third-party marketplaces or social platforms such as Amazon or Instagram.
2. What We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to operate and improve the Service. Examples include:
- Pageviews (page URL and timestamp)
- Outbound clicks (which external links are followed)
- Referrer and basic device information (browser, OS, approximate screen size)
- Short.io QR hit records (when you scan a Short.io QR we manage)
- Optional email address and survey responses that you voluntarily provide
3. How We Use Data
We use collected data for a limited set of purposes:
- Product analytics to measure pageviews and navigation patterns
- Delivering optional email communications when you have given consent
- Operational needs such as debugging, fraud prevention, and security
- Complying with legal obligations
4. Storage and Processing
Analytics and operational data are stored in Postgres databases hosted on Neon and Vercel infrastructure. These providers process and store data under their own privacy policies, and we ensure they maintain appropriate security and compliance standards.
5. Retention and Deletion
We retain analytics and operational data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or aggregate it. If you request deletion of your personal data, we will remove email and identifying records where feasible while preserving non-identifying analytics needed for product metrics.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use minimal cookies to maintain session integrity and remember simple preferences. These cookies are not used for cross-site advertising or third-party tracking.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the Service—currently Short.io, Neon, and Vercel—and only to the extent required for those services to function.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Your Rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data where applicable. Under California law, you may also request to know, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal data). To exercise these rights, contact us through our Contact page.
10. Legal Basis (for EEA / UK Visitors)
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal basis for processing personal data is:
- Consent, when you provide information voluntarily (for example, subscribing by email or completing a survey).
- Legitimate interest, in operating, securing, and improving the Service.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States where our services are hosted. When we transfer data outside your jurisdiction, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent legal safeguards to protect it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
